I'm asking for extra prayers for my nephew Joey, he is my husband's oldest sister's boy. He is in critical condition at this time. After begging for his life and telling the robber he had 3 kids and a wife, when he turned around to get the money the *&*^%#^&** shot him in the back. Then he forced him to open the safe after being shot and left him for dead. Here is the news article.

Robber shoots owner of laundry business
A Benton Township laundry owner was shot during an early-morning robbery Tuesday.
Joseph Defay, 38, had just arrived at his business, Harbor Coin Laundry, about 8 a.m. when an armed man who was apparently hiding inside the building at 1331 Michigan 139 reportedly attacked him, a Benton Township Police Department news release reported.
Police said they believe the gunman broke into the building and waited for Defay to arrive. Defay was hit on the head with the gun and shot before he could open the safe, the release said. He was then forced to open the safe, and the gunman took the money and fled, the release said.
Defay was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph and was treated for a gunshot wound to the back.
The gunman is described as about 5 feet 7 inches tall with dark baggy clothing and a black ski mask with red trim around the eyeholes.

Thank you all sooo much for your prayers. I truly believe they matter and are powerful. Joe is out of the woods as of this morning, and from what we hear is expected to make a full recovery in time. We were all just so shocked that this happened to one of our own but grateful at the same time. The bullet entered just millimeters from his spine at a close range.
I just hate that there are people llike that in the world that have no respect at all for human life. The robber had no reason to shoot. Joey had every intention of giving him the money.
Joe could be my A's son, they look so much alike it's uncanny. He's always been special to us just because of who he is. He's 38 yrs old but still "little Joe". I've known him since he was 16. Man! time just goes WHOOOSH!! Anyway..again, thank you ((family)) It worked :)

My first reaction , after sorrow for him, is anger big time. I can't stand senseless tragedies, as most people can't. I know most people are good, but those jerks like the gunman really tick me off.
Again, thank God, now I don't have to manage that &*&&^^head that did it.
How awful! I'm so sorry this happened to Joey -- hopefully he will make a full recovery - that's most important! I'll pray for him, his family, and his doctors and caretakers.
Dear God, Please send angels sit with Joey tonite and comfort him and his family; give them a sense of protection and safety. God, please ease Joey's pain and touch Your healing hand upon Joey's wound and help it heal. Please provide Joey with the best care; may his doctors and nurses use their all their wisdom, experience and best judgment in his care. Thank you for getting Joey to the hospital in time and thank you for those that saved his life and liveliness. Please provide his family with the resources to deal with this situation. Thank you for the love of the family of alanon friends and thank you God for hearing our prayers and saying "Yes!" :) Amen.
