an Artygirl update

Hello everyone
I've been around here, reading all your posts, just haven't posted much lately.

I had to go to court last week. My attorney had my AH appear before the judge. He violated a court order freezing all assets by cashing in his retirement account. It was the first time I've seen my AH since leaving him in September.

My attorney explained to the judge that I've received no financial support from my AH at all and that I've been paying the mortgage and all the bills by myself. The judge found my AH guilty of contempt for violating his order. He ordered him to pay the full amount back to a trust account set up in my attorney's name. He has 45 days to pay it off or he'll be incarcerated.

As my attorney and I were walking out to my car, my A was driving out and stopped and called out to my attorney. I kept walking. A got out of his truck and spoke to my atty. He said "Tell your client that I want to take one of her dogs." My atty assured him that he will not let that happen. A security guard came rushing out of the building. He wanted to make sure everything was okay and that my A hadn't threatened me. Good to know those guys are paying attention. He saw A getting out of his truck and came running. The security guy stood and watched me until I drove out of the parking lot.

So,my A's really mad now. I find myself looking over my shoulder and being extra careful about locking the doors. I doubt he'd do anything but it's comforting to know I have the personal protection order still in place. I was shaking while I was sitting in the courtroom. My A was seated just a few feet away. I barely looked at him. He looks and sounds terrible. He's definitely not the person I used to know.

I'm trying to carry on and take care of myself and my 2 dogs. I'm still living with my mom about 20 minutes away from my house. My house is still for sale. It's a bad time of year, bad economy for selling a house. Hopefully after the holidays I can get my realtor moving on getting it sold. I really need it to sell soon. I'm having a hard time scraping up enough money for the mortgage payment. I felt bad not having money to buy presents for my family this year. I made most of my gifts instead. Christmas seemed pretty strange without my husband. After all, I spent the last 16 or 17 Christmases with him!

Warm wishes to you all for the holidays!
Artygirl.

I am lost for words, and that doesn't happen to Ally very often (Ask the roomies) ..lol

My heart goes out to you, I wish I could make It better for you. We all find It so easy In here to feel eachothers pain. And right now I feel yours. If you have a protection order against your A, well done. Please just be cautious. I hope this sorts Itself out sooner rather than later for you.

Remember to keep comming back, and filling up with the Hope you need.

Love From Your Friend

Ally

i'm so proud of you... all that you've done -- i'm still in the beginning of all the court mess, so you are a source of ESH for me.  as for the AH, well, gee, addicts react to everything, right? whether they react by "medicating" or by belligerence.  of course he was mad, he didn't get his way!!!!! but you stuck to the boundary, he is NOT allowed to violate the courts orders and now he has to give it back. so he lashes out, "I want the dog"  yea yea yea, same 'ol addiction talking...

You, YOU, YOU are getting there!!! wow, girl.  finish line for the court mess can't come soon enough.  then the world is your oyster... keep with your program, keep with your almost complete plan B, i'm smiling with you.  let go of the fear; let go let God.  I am very grateful for my protection order, and I am a man almost literally twice as big as my Awife.  but they are scared and fear based, too. jail is not a place they enjoy going to.

keep up the faith, keep up the spirit, and again, keeep coming back

with love

also just a quick quip ---

people that are always looking over their shoulder don't usually see the brick wall they smack right in to.

Thanks CJ!

I appreciate your enthusiasm. I sometimes forget how far I've come in this process. Hopefully the divorce will be final in a few weeks. Unfortunately, my dire financial situation could linger on for quite a while. Best of luck to you with your upcoming divorce proceedings. I'm hoping one day I'll look back and all this will be a faint memory.

Just be alert, Arty. I once had an order of protection against my ex-A who was extremely angry that I got it. The order says he will be arrested if he touches you but it doesn't mean he WON't do it. Just be careful.....jaja

I am so glad your posted. I am glad you are living with your mom.

Have you contacted your mortgage holder Arty? Many companies, when they know you are selling will have programs to help you.

It is comforting to know you have a good attorney and have people watching out for you.

Well you sure are a couragious woman. Look how far you have come.

You said what you were going to do and ya did it. Truly an inspiration.

Much love,debilyn
