The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The last few weeks I have been, Questioning Ally, who Is she?, What Is she all about? Does she deserve to be happy? Will her life ever change? Can she be happy on her own? Does she do her best for people? Does she hurt people? (lol) I could go on. I'm going on to Step 4, and I think I'm asking myself to answer these things.
Anyway In comes my HP, and gives me the BEST answer I could have wished for. I received a private message from someone, and I'm going to share It with you.
ALLY
I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your support. When I first met you, In the chat room, you made me feel part of this family, and I can't thank you enough for that. I am very new here, but already don't feel like a newbie.
The wisdom you show and words of encouragement and support are so greatly appreciated. I know you are thought of highly here and I understand why. You have helped me to feel special in myself, something I have been missing for such a long time. I do feel I have come so far, but, also realise that I have so far to go yet. I'm hoping through your support and the support of other wonderful people here that I will make that journey.
I am also looking forward to sharing what I am learning with others, and if i can be there for anyone and listen when people need to talk, like you have done for me, I will be very happy.
Thank you Ally - Hope you have a lovely xmas where ever you may be and who ever you may be with.
WOW, did that knock me for six. That has answerd ALL my questions, Yes I am a work In progress, sometimes I feel like a downright failure, worthless, not worth nothing to no-one. But I could NOT have received a better message than this.
This tells me I am working my programme, and the programme Is working for me. I will never look back at my life before Al-Anon and go there again. I am where I am supposed to be. Who I am supposed to be with. And I am Happy with these people. They are good for me, I trust them, and do whatever I can to help anyone, new or old to Al-Anon.
I have also learned loads from the ones In the programme before me, and I continue to learn and grow within my fellowship.
Thank you for ALL your support throughout the year, may we all continue to be here and do all we can for eachother.
