The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
Steps 1-3 are about GIVING UP - I give up the illusion that I can control the alcoholic, that I am sane and the I can manage my life alone.
steps 4-6 are about OWNING UP- In these steps I seek the truth about my strengths and weaknesses. I admit those to God and another human being. and become entirley willing to let God remove my shortcommings.
steps 7-9 ARE ABOUT MAKING UP.-look at my broken relationships with God -myself and with others, and s trive to see my part in how they became damaged. I ask God to help me see who and how to make amends to correct the harm I may have done.
steps 9-12 KEEPING UP - I don't try to keep up with others , I keep up with myself and my growth. take personal inventory , prayer and meditation I keep in line with Gods will for me. Carrying the message keeps me grateful and focused on practicing the principles in all my affairs.
