Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving! I also wanted to say that I am thankful for everyone of you beautiful, loving creatures here.
I am cooking this year as MIL is having knee problems. I decided to do it at the last minute (last week, LOL), so therefore not a lot of family will be here. Most have already made plans with other family members. We do have my A's sponsee coming, since he is living in a halfway house and has no family nearby. MIL, FIL, my sister and her teen son will be here too ~ she is helping me cook. A's brother and his wife may pop in on their way to her sister's house. I think my daughter will be going to west Tennessee with her b/f to see his extended family.
I just hope it's all over by the time Grey's Anatomy comes on that evening...LOL!
Just a reminder, remember that if the stress gets to be too much, we can always pop in here for a little TLC...
Anyway, don't eat toooooo much, and enjoy being with your families!
You are a wonderful dil for helping out or should I say taking over the Thanksgiving responsibilities. I hope it turns out to be a perfect day for you and your family and you receive many blessings as we remember to be thankful for so many things.......including this place we can come for some caring hugs and love.
Have a wonderful day and a good relax in front of tv after.
Lmt, I was going to cop out of turkey dinner completely.
I waited to see if hub would think of something..hee hee.
Well we went to the store today to get normal list items, and I spied a precooked turkey breast....a ha...all I have to do is heat it. Got premade potato salad, a frozen chocolate cake, a bakery pumpkin pie, and shrimp cocktail . Oh, and a can of cranb sauce. So....it will be easy and we can graze all day, no big deal. hahahahahahaa
I bet you think I'm a nut case; well you're right.
Thanks for the Thanksgiving wish. My plans have changed so much - back and forth. My only family nearby is not going to be in town until later in the afternoon so we planned on something for Friday. Then plans were made to go to someone else's place but then for some reason the 3 of us was too many. Anyway, I shouldn't expect anything different from someone who flakes out all the time anyway.
So I said screw it, I'll cook a dinner for 3 people. I've done it before. I think I cooked my first Thanksgiving dinner when I was 17 (my mom was a nurse & working that day) so I'm well seasoned. We did opt for a ham instead of turkey - a little easier.
On the THANKFUL side, it saves me from being embarassed by the A if we're at someone else's house and he decides to over do it - especially around folks I don't know well.
I just hope it's not too hot so I don't have to swelter all day.
