On the one hand, I like to think I'm unique. Being unique reminds me that I am made in god's image. His own handiwork. His blessed child.
On the other hand, as I read Non CAL books about growing up in alcholic dysfunction, I found, much to my relief, that I shared many personality traits that were described in the books. Things like "the scapegoat (the one who always creates problems and finds themselves in problems)" described me as well as "the family mascot (the one who always is the family comidianne)".
So I believe it's a balence. I need to take the time to realize I am a divine child of god, loved in every way. But there are striking similarties that unite me to the whole of the human race. For that, I am humbled and greatful.
