frustrating behaviour

Dear all,
I know I am going to sound selfish typing this but I just need to vent. I have had the most awful afternoon, having to verify a hotel room that I have paid for in the UK. This was booked last August fully paid for, I have the voucher with all the number, the travel agents are legitimate and the fly in the ointment in the hotel reservations manager who cannot see it on her system though will not give me an email or direct verification of this but rang me several times to tell me that she cannot find my booking. I am terrified of arriving in Liverpool at the end of november, if I cancel I lose all my money as that was the deal. If I arrive and they still don't honour the booking, I am in trouble. I have emailed her and told her assertively that all vouchers and travel agents have been verified and to keep an eye out for this. I think she is trying to sell the room or something as she keeps going on about how its a very busy football weekend, like I care! Anyone I have dealt with to verify it have been kocher, should I waste more time and talk to the manager of the hotel.

I would, given how much money you've invested already.

The call to the manager should be able to work it out.  Personally, I would be all over the travel agent to earn his commission and make sure you are a happy customer.  Let them make a million phone calls.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Take care of you!

Thanks a lot, for the responses, they help a lot, I am going to ring the manager tomorrow. However on the way home I did a mental gratitude list as a post I read earlier really helped as well. I brought flowers for my Polish helper who helped me get my house straight and she is going back to Poland tomorrow, her husband is an alcoholic so we got on very well and had a lot in common. I am truly grateful for the fact that she put the house in order as it is a joy to sit at home and not be surrounded by acres of clutter. I am also grateful for earning good money at the moment so if the bloody hotel goes belly up, its not the end of the world though I still am seriously pissed about it, and feel taken advantage of, I'll deal with that with the manager. I am very grateful for this site as it really takes the sting out of it to be able to express myself.

Is there any way to send them a copy of the info you have--the reservation number and so forth?  Maybe that would "jog" the computer's memory.

I would keep trying to work it out.  I know I wouldn't want to loose all that money!! or not have a place to stay.

Good luck to you!!!  I hope the travels go well.
