Feeling good

My AH will have 3 months sober tomorrow, the 9th.  It has been quite an adjustment for me, as for a long time I couldn't see why I needed this program. All the reasons people told me I should be here didn't seem to apply, as I didn't blame myself or have low self-esteem and a myriad of others.

I have been trying to let go of the drinking and all the hurtful, ugly words that went with it.  I kept thinking that there must be a magic secret or something, something that was just eluding me for some reason.  I woke up this morning and realized that that chapter is over, no big ticker tape parade, it's just done and I need to let it be over.  That is when I understood why I am here, to learn to let it go.  I feel really good, like I was stuck in one spot and I can move again.

Have a great day

(((Hi ShelBel)))

I am glad you found us.  So glad your AH has three months sober, also... that is wonderful!  They say that you need this program more than ever once they attempt their own program and feel the need to get sober.

It is so nice to have you here.  You will find so much love and support here.  My AH has 10 days now, and is at least attempting to go to a few meetings here and there.  It is real hard not to expect a miracle.  Pray, pray, that is all I do.

Have a nice day, Shelbel, and congrats on YOUR recovery!!!

Love, HeidiXXXXX
