My son is home!

Hi friends,

My son, the soldier, is home from a year overseas. I am so happy and relieved. This was his third time in combat. He asked that we not travel to his homecoming. As difficult as that was we honored his request. He called last night. Let's say he didn't call from a "church". He sounded so happy and relieved. I spoke with two of his buddies. They just sounded so happy too. Now that it is over, I realize how uptight I have been.

Thank you all for your support of my son.

Nancy

Wonderful news Nancy,

Please give him an extra hug for serving my country.

Good that you honored his request. Sometimes they test us parents too to see if we will honor their boundaries. I find when I honor my boy's request, it always pays off.

yours in recovery,

WOOHOO! WOOHOO! Home safe and sound, that's awsome!   When you get the chance to see him, give him an extra hug for me.  Tell him from my family we said thank you for serving our country and keeping us safe.  Hubby is an ex Navy Seal. Enjoy your time with him.

Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,

Karilynn, Hubby & Pipers Kitty

I am so thrilled for you.  My hubby is retired army and both of our sons served as well.  I know all too well what those homecoming's are like, they are awesome. Congratulations

I did not realize just how many fears and emotions I had stuffed inside while hubby was in Nam until our son was in Desert Storm and the barracks he was living in were bombed and it was on national TV.  I found myself literally running through the house yelling "Leave my baby alone".  It was then that I realized just how much I had stuffed away and now I had it double because I had never let go of the first round of emotions.  Our son came home fine and with no injuries and he just could not figure out why I was so concerned about where he was at.  I'll swear it was like it was when he was 5; if he knew where he was at and that he was ok he assumed that the rest of the world did too.  LOL
