Serenity II

((((((Family))))),

I posted a couple of months ago about the serenity I felt in the woods with hubby.  I hadn't felt that way in so long.  I'm feeling that same way today.

I am on vacation this week and even got an extra hour of it thanks to the time change.  Hubby woke me up early this morning with coffee in hand. I had coffee in bed and read awhile.  I then went back to bed for an hour, just because I can. Then I got up and made waffles for breakfast, from scratch.  That's a treat.

Right now hubby is taking his midmorning nap.  Pipers Kitty is lying in window.  I am still in my jammies and intend to remain that way.  The sun is shining, with a few snow flurries in between ( ).  The house smells of roasted garlic for the pork roast later, and cranberry chutney is bubbling on the stove.  We are going to watch the Eagles game in a bit and take the day as it comes.  The phone is turned off and all is quiet.  Love it!

I have a few projects planned this week.  But I have promised myself not to drive myself crazy if I don't get all of them done.  What's the point of being on vacation if you get uptight?  So I will do what I can do, and if I don't, no big deal.  I am relaxing, that's for sure.

I am realizing on this journey of recovery that we can find serenity in all different places.  To some my day today may seem mundane and not extraordinary.  But serenity is found not only in big events, but in the little events that make up our days.  We may not have an entire day of serenity, but we can steal moments along the way.  What are your moments of serenity?  Is there an ordinary event that can feel extraordinary because of the serenity you feel? Take the time to find out.  We are so worth it.

Enjoy your day and your serenity. Love and blessings to you and your families.

Live strong and serene,

Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

Kari, You are on vacation, so just BE on vacation :)

I was thinking today after a walk in a nature park, I need to  BE on vacation much more.

At home I am always on overload with chores and things to do when actually I remember that I deserve to be on vacation!

Mundane?   Peace :)

I hope you have a lovely vacation. I am working two jobs at the moment. I hope to have some time off round the holidays and rest up and recuperate. Right now oddly enough I am grateful for the 2 jobs. One is "sane". I am grateful for that.  I would be even more grateful if I could get one full time job that paid enough.  But right now I do find serenity in knowing that I have enough money in the bank for a while to pay my bills.

I also am grateful for al anon and the willingness I have to detach.

Maresie.
