Taking it Back

Hi everyone!  It has been a few months since I have been around.  I have been going to F2F meetings and haven't had a computer to get online.  Now I am back in school and have gotten settled so I might be able to do more posting.

This summer has been quite the exciting thing.  The last time I posted things were pretty bad with me and my a.  Since then he got beat up pretty badly--a broken jaw, and gone back into the program.  I was on my way out, but after the jaw thing he started making 2 meetings a day and has done very well.  I would love to think that this is it and this time he "got it" but only time will tell.

Things are going peachy so last week the law stops by and arrests him for some charges brought up from 2 years ago. A wonderful "old buddy" has it out for him!!!  The constable sat in my front yard and told me not to worry about it everything would be o.k.

I began to worry what this would do to his sobriety.  So far so good, but no court dates have come up yet.  I keep praying and turning it over to my HP, but dead gummit if I don't keep picking it back up.  I am trying!! I just wish I had a had a shock thingy or something that would smack my hand every time I tried to take it back!!!  Oh well I guess if I just keep praying eventually I will let happen whatever is going to happen--b/c we all know I can't stop it!!!

Thanks for listening,

Dawn

Welcome back... we've missed you.

Even without this disease, there are so many little "oportunities for growth".  You have great courage and a HP to help you through.

You and your family will be in my prayers.

Take care of you!

hudsond,

Glad to hear things for you and your A are going well.  HP has a way of bringing us in just at those moments when it feels like all hope is lost.  Maybe it was just the very thing that needed to happen to your A to get him sober.  I would not worry either about the charges from 2 years ago, its loose end that needed to made a mends for eventually.  A an A friend of mine had to go back to his home town to deal with charges from 9 years ago!!  He was scared of what could happen, but having the tools of the program helped him own up to it and he prepared himself for the worse.  Turns out he only had to appear in court once and pay a minor fine and go home.  Sounds like your A is doing the next right thing for himself and his program.  Good job for him!!  I have the same problem with giving something over to HP and then taking it back.  I'm learning that HP keeps bringing those problems to me until I've finally surrendered and given it over.  I can be a stubborn knuckle head sometimes.   Keep taking care of you, sounds like you are doing great with program.

Good to hear things are okay.

The law will, maybe, commit your SO to AA long term. In the meantime, I hope we hear more from you.
