Perhaps at this point in your recovery and since you have just began to come into the rooms of MIP it would be best to get to know some of the other online members of MIP before actually selecting a sponsor. You might want to do some of the online meetings and read some of the previous forums to see who might best fit your need in a sponsor; that's the person that you would want to ask to become your sponsor. I think it's great that you have came and asked. How about posting a bit about yourself and get acquainted with the group. There are many here that can give you guidance and direction of how the online experience works, so please continue to ask as many questions as you need to.
I know for myself, there are times that I can spend more time in MIP and other times that having those spare moments are rare.
Reaching out as you are doing is a big step in the right direction so please don't take this as a negative, but as a solution in the making!
As cilla quite rightly said, maybe you should take a little time to aquaint yourself with these boards and maybe face to face meetings before you look to find a sponsor. I have found great awareness and growth towards recovery for myself through sharing my experiences on these boards. There are many people here who care and understand what you're going through.
Maybe you could start by sharing a bit about yourself...I'd love to hear.
