Just talked to my attorney...LOL (funny 'cause he was my A's friend before my attorney, and last October when I asked A to move out, he went and talked to the attorney about a divorce and attorney told him he couldn't discuss the matter with him because he is MY attorney) anyway, his legal advice is to make sure all money we get, if married, be placed in seperate account. Although the law says it is ours (us siblings) spouses and children can then not stake any claim, it is considered seperate property in our state. Also, it is okay to pay off some community property debts with the money, or transfer some money to joint account, the law still sees it as seperate property....SO I feel better, because last week in the midst of an argument he said he would come after half.....it's not a huge amount, but it's mine...
