Update on surgeries

Hi (((((((((((((everyone)))))))))))))))

As most of you had asked me for an update on my surgeries.

I’m going to disillusion you about our great Canadian health care system.

As far as my back surgery goes, it looks like I have to wait the 6 months to get in to see the surgeon for another consultation. Then another 6-9 months after that to have surgery. My Doc told me that she couldn’t get me in any faster and if I am unable to walk I should go to the emergency at the hospital and see if they will do anything. I told her that I was thinking about going to the states to have it done and she suggested that I go to the hospital first to see if that helps, her hands are tied. Its all in HP’s hands now.

As far as the other surgery, I will see the surgeon on Sept 15 and will update you when I know more.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers

Love you all in a special way

Sending big hugs your way.

Well maybe if you can get into the emergency room, then try that. If that could possibly speed up the process then why not got for it. Then maybe you can work on the option of coming here for the surgery. I just don't understand how everything can be put off so long when you are in so much pain.

As for your second needed surgery, yes please keep us informed. We love and support you.

Yours in recovery,

Thanks, shadow...

and best of wishes and prayers for something to get done in a timely fashion... (like yesterday???...)

Wow. I have worked in healthcare for a long time, and on the insurance/public healthcare side too... makes me realize the grass is not always greener. There's a downside to everything, eh?

If you were visiting here, and say, had a crisis and had to go to the E.R.... would your Canadian Health coverage cover surgery here?

Just an idea...

Nope joni I would need extra health care insurance. And because it is  a prexsisting condition they wouldn't cover it. Good thought though
