Yikes spoke with my mother the other day and now my younger brother who is back in court July 27th lost his part time gas station job! He came to work two hours late - his boss said he gave him enough chances and let him go. He knew he had to "keep his back clean" and now he's done this?! My mother is afraid he'll end up back in jail. She's having a very difficult time detaching.
I havent received a summons to appear in court yet but how long do they wait to send those? She's going to crucify me if what I say ends him back in jail.
Keep in mind whatever happens with your brother is his journey. He's making choices that he knows may result in harsh consequences. I hope your Mom soon can see that trying to save him is futile. Attempting to save, help and change him will only result in a longer path to his bottom.

(((((((((Barbara)))))))) You have been through worse things if you think back. Your mom seems to be able to bounce back and see things for what they are, don't you think? A person has to do what is best for them and the addict and family. You have been doing that all along in my opinion. Just keep trusting yourself and keep in contact with your Higher Power. I so admire you for all you have done so far! Your situation has been a really tough one with your elderly mom. Keep up the good work. cdb xoxoxo
