Thanks to all who wished us Men folks a happy fathers day. I did have a good fathers day. I related the mess that was starting up on thursday night, but friday went better and we all had fun fishing and playing on the owners wave runner.
I WANT one of those! That thing must cost a fortune, but it was really fast. I loved it!
AW and Ason drank the whole weekend, at times each of them showing their colors. Guess the only thing that bothered me a bit was the effect on the fiance. She is starting to really get a dose of it and I didn't have a good oportunity to mention Al-Anon to her.
She knows I go to a group that my AW hates. Not absolutely sure she knows what it's called. That is tricky for me. Let her know, but stay out of thier business.
Oh well, I am not going to dwell on it... we had a good weekend and I am basking in it.

Good deal! Glad you had a good weekend. Isn't it great that "they" can do what they are gonna do and that now we can let go of it and still have a great time!
I'm so glad you found a way to have a great time.. The waverunner's are loads of fun aren't they? You can just fly like the wind and leave everything and everyone behind.
Maybe you could pick up some free literature from your meeting for the fiance' ? She can choose to read it or not.

I was told to picture a bridge...you are on the side that has serenity. You chose to walk across that bridge to a better place. Lead the fiance by example of your better place in the disease.
Good for you, not letting the disease affect your weekend. I am sure that the fiance is watching and your actions will show the recovery this program has to offer.

I'm glad you had a good time. Sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't been on a wave runner in ages but plan to go out to the gulf this summer with some friends.
I agree its hard to remain neutral with other's who you know have been affected by A'ism. My A's family has been greatly affected I just try to speak from program experience. Some of my family members has said they'd like to go to a meeting to understand it better. My A's family not so open. Nothing I can do about that. I think leading by example is good advice.
