Hi all.

I thought I'd give a condensed background update on MIP Alanon to the present time. Please feel free to add in pertinent parts. 

The board was started around 1998 by a small group of alanoners with at least one double winner, being the founder John. John passed away some time ago. Over the years, the board has had many moderators with some eras being more organised and programme oriented than others.

I came to be the main mod of the sinking ship round about the time of covid. I asked for a co-mod who has paid the bills for the site since then. He is hands off in terms of direct moderating and belongs to the acoa programme. My own involvement has been limited. I try to clean up spam and make occasional posts usually under my member account. I have given mod capacities to two other members.

Lyne, thank you for your service over the last 5 years in showing up and posting. Thanks also to Jitsuka for stepping up recently and cleaning up the spam as well as posting dailies.. We are for better or worse still here till who knows when.

The site certainly has lots of potential and holds a lot of wisdom spanning almosr three decades. The disease doesn't change and my view is, as long as there are alcoholics, there will be a need for spaces and places like this.
