Interesting News For You All

The 'A' had an encounter with the ER July 3, 2026 due to a perforated stomach ulcer caused by his drinking.

Landed him in surgery in the early hours of the morning of July 4th and was hospitalized for two weeks with

serious blood infections.  He pulled through and is back to light duty work.  Swears he learned his lesson

and will never take another drink again.  Awful way to learn ones lesson.  He still is nasty but not as often.

To be expected, the nastiness, it has been 6 weeks without a drink and when you think about it he has

been drinking all his life, got to be tough.  As I see it he has no choice but to stop.

Jtuska,

Thank you {{HUGS}} I do!!

I am doing alright, there is, although, just so much I can accept or allow. Whenever "sir nasty"

rears it's ugly face, I walk away and buy something purple (symbol of domestic abuse) to decorate

the house.   smile

My way of "anchoring" my existence.

{{{Debbie}}} I love your coping strategy above! In my zoom alanon meeting, a member always says she doesn't want to let others take away her peace and serenity. I'm trying to practice this. My spouse is a dry drunk and currently not in meetings nor having a sponsor. I'm trying to protect me and much of the time I can do it well. I cannot change anyone else. Only me. :)
