Had a great experience chairing my f2f last night. We are a very small town, usually our meeting is four or five people, all long time members. So, I showed up early, got the room set up - by five minutes before meeting time, there were six new people, none of whom I had ever seen before, and me! As new members very rarely have anything to say, I was a bit scared, thinking I was going to be talking practically non stop for the whole hour. Luckily a couple of older members showed up at the last minute, so I wasn't the *complete* alanon experience for these new people. Ended up being a fabulous meeting - newbies stayed after, talking and crying. Looks like at least some of them will be back next week.
Congrats on chairing your first meeting. Kind of like jumping off a cliff isn't it? Scary but once you realize you can survive, it can be kind of fun (just make sure there is water below). Can't think of anyone nicer for newbies to have around for support than you. Keep up the good work.
Live strong,
Karilynn
