to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
This reading reminds us that we are never truly alone. Those of us in recovery have so many resources, inside the program(honesty of people in meetings, our HP, literature, etc.), and outside (music, nature, animals, a waterfall, etc.). The reading emphasizes the importance of listening and seeking, to see that we are never alone.
Alanon has taught me to look for blessings and gratitude, and to change my mindset if stuck in negativity. It's not always easy--things are not going well for my brother with cancer, but I am still able to laugh at my dog and admire beautiful flowers and trees outside. I realize it's important to try to reach for balance. There are some very difficult things we all have to deal with. One foot in front of the other, and keep going.....
