The focus of this reading is a reminder to keep an open mind.  Not every alanon meeting has the exact same format.  We are reminded that the Principles of our program remain the same in every city.  Each of us plays an important part as we share our ESH.  Our individual differences can make us richer as a whole.  The reminder suggests we let go of our rigidity, so we can see the beauty in diversity.

With the onset of Covid I attended a bunch of meetings on zoom, and each of those were different.  And of course they all felt different than my home group, a place that provided comfort and consistency most of the time.  I learned that I could gain the peace and love of the program in each meeting I went to.  That ESH help me grow and change from all different kinds of people.  Every meeting is an opportunity, and so are the message boards.  Grateful member always.
