Ive gotten back into reading fiction books, walk 30mins before work, 30mins after work, play catch w/DS most weeknights. This weekend with the nice weather finally coming Im planning on taking my book, my chair and myself to a nearby lake and just sitting. I do however usually have myself on a time schedule - Im always watching a clock
you do something that makes you happy... that soothes your soul, i can't tell you what that something is. but i believe you know. sitting on a lake in a comfy chair w/ a good book omg heaven. but thats me, i would love that. i would love a hot bath and a good book. calgon take me away... you know your truth and what makes you happy, so do it and be ok in that because you deserve it. sitting by a lake in warm weather w/ a good book was your first thought, then by all means enjoy every peaceful moment before you have to come back to reality, escape and you'll find peace in something as simple as you and sitting by the water and relaxing reading something you enjoy, because its your day off and its warm outside and why should you not? theres no reason, but if you need affirmation, go relax and find your peace. i can recommend some good books if you need that. enjoy the peace and relaxation, it will sooth your soul and you'll find strength in that for you! hope i helped
I think it sounds like you do already relax! Relaxing to me is taking time to not "think" about stuff that weighs me down. Therefore I relax by reading (fiction-non-thinking) or watching tv--because that keeps my head preoccupied without worrying about stuff I can't take care of at all or right then. I have friends who scrapbook--but that just makes me upset--the pages never turn out the way I have them in my head and it just frustrates me. Relaxing should be whatever makes you feel good and gives you energy to make it through your next list of "musts" or "to dos". (Listen to me I'm "shoulding"--oops!!)
I am a swimmer. Now that may not sound relaxing, but for me it is. First thing in the morning I take that hour and a half, swim a complete mile, and allow my mind to go off to pleasant thoughts. Or perhaps to no thoughts at all. As I swim, I see the sky, the birds flying overhead, and imagine myself drifting along on a thermal like a lazy eagle on a warm afternoon. After my swim, I relax in the sun for half an hour, drifting in and out of consciousness, having fantastic dreams. I have trained myself to do all this, and it works for me, allowing the rest of my day to be relaxed and good. I am tanned, healthy, and slim as a bonus. OK OK OK I don't use sunscreen.......Diva

I take a bath...call my friend who lives in New Jersey...get on my computer and write poetry or short stories (no internet at home) take a walk in the cemetary, drive to the state park that is nearby........
I try to occupy my mind and spirit with prayer as well.
I've never been so relaxed as I was after my first yoga class. I signed up just BEFORE 911(2001) and haven't stopped yet. I spend an hour concentrating on my breathing in and out with my movements and before I know it I'm relaxed and haven't thought of my a in an hour.
Most people squak at the thought of yoga, I know I used to be one of them. Try a drop in class and relax!
