My dear, dignified, graceful, 12 year-old Boston Terrier was diagnosed with canine Cushing's Disease several months ago. This is a disease which has no cure, and the medications used to treat it are oftentimes as bad or worse than the disease tiself. Ultimately it is fatal. So hubby and I decided not to treat, but to keep her comfortable until the time comes when her quality of life is compromised, then allow her life to end with the dignity she has always displayed. What a lovely animal she is...gentle, kind, and beautiful.
I am afraid the end is near for her. She is having trouble breathing, she is not able to walk well, and her eyes are no longer bright. This morning she goes to her vet for an analysis of the current state of her health. We are hoping she can battle back from this and be with us a little longer. After all, she has survived a diamondback rattlesnake bite, and a fall from a tall tree which she climbed all by herself!
Please, if you would, send some positive thoughts and prayers her way. She is such a great lady.

You truly have my sympathy - I hope your beloved dog comes through this. For me and my A loosing one of our dogs to old age was one of the worst things we have gone through. No one loves unconditionally like a dog, it is so hard when old age and other problems take them from us. My prayers are with you!
I'm sorry to hear about your dear dog. I understand the pain that goes along with the responsibility of determining the quality of life for a 4 footed family member. You and your family are in my prayers, and have all my positive thoughts. Take care.
Pipers Kitty and I are keeping you and yours in our prayers tonight. She may be a cat, but she loves all animals as do I. I know how important the love of a pet is. Pipers has seen me through many a trying time as well as her Dad. Keep us posted. HP will be along side of you and yours.
Love and blessings to my friend.
Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

Having grown up with Bostons and my parents raising them I know their loyality. Even the one that bit the end of my nose off 3 years ago is still a good friend to me. He felt so bad at the time and still smells it to make sure it us ok today. Easts cookies out of mouth, we are the best of buds, my Mom just told me yesteday he is going blind. The end of another era. And my Dad saying this is the last one! Hope all goes well.

(((Diva))) aren't our pest THE BEST?? When my first dog was on his last leg, I was grateful to find out his vet could tell if he were in pain. There are muscle reactions he could read to my little guy's pain. When the visit came when his pain was evident to his vet, I could let him go. In the meantime, it was a comfort to me knowing he wasn't hurting. Whatever his state in his decline, I just loved him more. You have my best wishes --- Jill
