Dear Rose, do NOT be so hard on yourself - IT WAS A MISTAKE - no one is perfect. Being the fiance of John, who works endlessly to keep these meetings going for ALL of us, I can only imagine that you are the same type of personality and do endless work for ALL of us ALSO !!!
Anyone one who sent you bad replies about this MISTAKE - OBVIOUSLY NEEDS TO WORK ON THEIR PROGRAM ALOT MORE !!!
PLease, both of you, " LET IT GO ". You do trememdous work that most of us have no clue as to how much is involved. I for one, appreciate it SOOOO VERRRY MUCHHH. You carry the message well for us and I dont know what I would do with out this 12 Step online.
Rose & John, Many of us can still be suckered into hoaxes, depending on how creative the hoaxer's scam is. I do not mass email my family even, at the request of my brother, who would like to have his personal info kept away from certain (not in a program) family members. Unless put in that situation, you may not think twice about mass emailing.
Thank you, Rose, for thinking of us. I have learned in this program to really think if what I will do or say is truly necessary. Others have their own Higher Power, but it is hard to accept being powerless in this day of mass media scare tactics. We may want to prevent love ones from being scammed/hurt.
I have learned in Alanon that sometimes its not how mean people aim to sound, but how we take their reactions. Nonetheless, I am sure you guys had some nasty emails. That is where they find themselves in their recovery. I can understand and accept your mistake; we all make mistakes. I strive to live as though I am powerless over things i cannot control, that is why I need to keep coming back.
