C2C, Monday, 2/19, the nature of my nature

This reading made good sense to me.  My behavior paralleled the  alcoholic, without the alcohol--insane but sober.  I blamed others, I took everything personally, and my reactions were based on fears.  As time went on, I could see my reactions were less extreme.  Some things that used to bother me didn't really matter.  CHANGE HAD BEGUN!  The reminder says in part that by going through the 12 Steps, we can learn the nature of our nature.  It says that we are worth learning about, and in essence, we can take all the time we need.

My first sponsor was a perfect match for me--she was kind and caring, and was always lifting me up when I was falling down.  I did the Steps the first time with fear and feeling embarrassed.  Several years later I asked her to do the Steps again.  This time I tackled them with eagerness and confidence.  I could see how much I had changed.  My recovery was in progress!  I will always be grateful to Betty and this program.
