I would like to hear how you let go of people and situations you cannot change. This comes so hard for so many of us especially when it concerns a loved one, when all we "think" we are doing is "trying to help. etc etc................
GG - having recently left my AH. I do knowwhat you mean. I gave him a year while I worked my program. His drinking didn't change. He was still verbally abusive when drinking. He was to unrealalstic with my boys. He expexted angels, and I know his own boys were not. And after hearing all the things they did as they aged and he allowed it to go on, I knew had to leave.
I did not take it likely, I wish I could have acted a little sooner when he started to binge drink, but I was in denial as we all often are.
I had to get my boys out of there before them came to believe it was OK for a man to act that way.

Only through faith and friends am I coping with my detachment from my A.
I miss and love him desperately...would love to have the power to change this man, to cure the addiction, to control our lives and manipulate circumstances to my liking.
No, cannot let go and let God every day, I am working on it.
