After decades of using MIP's #alanon chatroom I'm sad to say that it has had a 'hostile takeover' by a narcissistic jerk and is no longer controlled by MIP. The jerk using the nickname 'earthrocker' banned me from the chatroom, and I have no access to it. He is exactly what an alanon chatroom doesn't need. Seemingly, due to a lack of maintaining the status of the chatroom, MIP is now directing people to go to what is now his chatroom, not MIP's. I left a message using the MIP contact email with no return. I don't know who is in control or has responsibility maintaining the MIP website or chatroom(s), so I'm hoping whoever reads this can pass this on to someone who can fix this. Has the MIP website and chatrooms been totally abandoned? I donno. Regards to you all.
Tahoe - your post appeared twice, so I removed one....as best I know, there is no moderator for the chat room area (formally). It's always been a different place - separate from the boards. I am sorry that there's an issue there and that you've been affected. I've offered the only thoughts I have on 2 other posts.

Sorry for posting twice, and thank you for removing the duplicate. I have some suggestions on how to fix the problem, which would be for the MIP website to direct the chatroom link to a newly formed chatroom with a slightly different name, like #alanon_chat instead of #alanonchat. First someone will need to set up a new chatroom, then change the links in the website to direct people into the new chatroom. I wish my computer skills were good enough that I could actually help do this, but I can't. Thanks again, and I hope you're Holidays are safe and happy.
Please keep coming back - we're pretty friendly around the boards too!!!
