Growth and gratitude

I've been thinking a lot lately about how much I have to be grateful for. I am so delighted that it is true what they say about an attitude of gratitude and how it continues to multiply. When I step into gratitude, life gives me more to be grateful for.  It is whale season where I am, and every time I see a mother whale and her baby it is magical, as if it were the first time ever seeing a whale. They are incredible creatures and on occasion, I have literally been able to witness the whales playing from my front porch. I say it repeatedly to my loved ones; we are so lucky to live here and to come from here. So lucky. I love the me that shows up in my life today. I credit this programme to that miracle.

I also got my exam results in and I passed all of my papers last semester. My grades were not incredible but honestly I am just happy I passed. Grateful for the pass and the opportunity to work harder this semester. It was actually really stressful because last year I tanked four papers, narrowly avoiding total GPA ruin and academic probation. By 0.1 of a grade. Again, I am grateful for this experience. Many years ago, and pre recovery, when I began the slippery descent into any kind of reverse motion, I would throw the baby out with the bathwater and freeze, effectively self sabotaging.  My mind would go, this is what you need to do A4L, but my subconscious mind would go, you're a fraud and a failure.  How my mothering self feels sorry for that me of that time to recall that.  No body is a failure. We are all works in progress.

So after last years setback, I picked myself up, followed my minds instructions and put in the work. That alignment of conscious and subconscious mind  I again credit to recovery. The results are in: it works when you work it. and oh boy am I worth it, today! I am so grateful for the growth that this programme has bought me and I wanted to share it.  Hugs to ((((MIP)))

Congrats. that you passed all your exams/work!!! I truly enjoyed your share about the whales....I got a visual in my mind! I do agree that an attitude of gratitude tends to feed upon itself and this program gave 'that' to me...

(((Hugs))) - keep doing what you're doing -- it looks so good on you!

Congratulations a4l. You brought a smile to my heart. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. What stood out for me is ....throwing the baby out with the bathwater when beginning the slippery descent into ANY kind of reverse motion...I am inspired to forge ahead and lean into the program of recovery... Wishing you continued success ((HUGS))

Thanks all it's beyond my camera skill to capture the whales but this is my reef. Like Moana the movie, most of the reef is beyond the lagoon which I'll add too. Both the reef and the lagoon have taken major hits with development but there is still much beauty to wake up to. There's a stream that feeds the lagoon as well included for Jerry F

My wife and I have been watching Green Planet this morning which has been revealing the south pacific geography; its reefs, oceans, inhabitant animals and all of the other miracles HP has showered on us.   Now I am happy you are living amongst it also.  Love it and you too.

Have a beautiful continued recovery.  We will do the growth and gratitude with you.   awwbiggrin
