God grant me....

I just had the most  insane, circular, unproductive, half hour phone call with my A.  It took me an entire half hour to say that I had to go.  I am left feeling anxious, and I have back pain that developed during the call.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I'm going to take some deep breaths and move forward with my day....

Good for you. Do what you need to do to stay on an even keel.

While I think Al-Anon's belief of examining our parts/motivation in life's situations is valid. sometimes I find I can become mired in trying to understand "What did I do here?" I have lost whole days when I was faced with similar circumstances... I was always trying to figure out what I did, and how to avoid that in the future. It truly was unproductive and serenity stealing!

I find when dealing with active addiction, it can become more important to understand you can't "fix Krazy." There are times, that nothing you did, nor could've done would change the insane behavior of your qualifier... it just is.

Perhaps take a walk with your pooch... clear your head.
I want you to know that I see and support your hard work with your program!

Lyne, deep breath is right, you did good cause you are working the program and it definitely

appears that this is one of those "One Day At A Time" moments.

{{HUGS}} to you!!

Those crazy making circular conversations are hard to go through and recover from. I know that first hand.

It sounds like you know what you need to do to move forward though Lyne.

(((Lyne))) - Oh my - I've been there and can so relate. In working hard to 'seek to understand', it takes time (at times) to realize we are in a no-win situation - darned if we do, darned if we don't, etc. I am one who always looks for the positives so, when I get caught up in the insanity of the moment, my 'after' realization is that it was only for 30 minutes vs. days.

I am hopeful that you share here gave you release! For me, very often, sharing is healing and helpful in moving me forward. I am grateful that we are expected to just progress and never perfect the use of these tools. That truly helps me accept that I am human, I will make mistakes and that's how it's supposed to be. (((Hugs)))
