The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I did not see an ODAT for today and wish to give back to you all on MIP because you all mean a lot to me. So I hope that I have not overstepped my boundaries .....
Todays ODAT reminds us that "Al-Anon provides relief to us to detach ourselves from the chains that binds us to the weight of alcoholism".
That world-wide/local Al-Anon membership sustains and gives us collective strength to learn, grow and be free of the control that alcoholism is so well known to exhibit on our lives.
"He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good" ~ (Proverbs)
Al-Anon & MIP has saved my life, there is no doubt about it. What I've learned has sustained me through all aspects of my life and I am forever grateful.
By learning to detach from those chains which weighed me down terribly, I see clearly and can live with confidence and peace to control my own life and no one else's.
With much love ....

Deb, thanks for posting your thoughts on today's reading from ODAT. I had to pull out my copy of the daily devotional and read it for myself. I was reminded that now there is another chain that we are part of, the chain that links us together in al-anon. Never is it so evident than here at MIP, we come from different places and different backgrounds, but share a common goal: to find recovery from the effects of alcoholism in al-anon. Each of us is a link in this chain, as the reading suggests. None of us more or less important than the other. We are all on equal footing in al-anon, a circle of love and support. I'm proud to be one link in that chain.
