brother called my mother 6xs Mon night

Since middle of March the family has been court ordered to have no contact with my younger brother. He did call my mother's house six times Monday night. My mother hopes he wasnt drinking as he has his urine test today (Wed). (How long does alcohol stay in your system?) Once he put the phone up to his radio. He told my mother he's sleeping on the floor as he doesnt have a bed. During one call he told my mother that the judge thinks he will hurt her - he told her he loves her. The last call he did ask if my mother was ever raped. Im hoping all goes well May 4 when he returns to court. What exactly is a "plea"?

Remember that in Al-anon, we have choices... you have the choice to not pick up the phone...

I would like to share with you the infinite wisdom an Oldtimer in Al-anon has been pounding into my head... "If he did pick up, how does that change what YOU are doing right now or what you are going to do today?"  Each and every time I get the feeling that my A husband has picked up, I repeat this in my head over and over, the answer is that it is not going to change what I am doing RIGHT NOW, TODAY, and today is all that I have to worry about.  I cannot see into the future, sure I think I can LOL, but what good will it do me.

Sorry about your brother having a hard time.  I hope you and your mother are able to take care of yourselves.  It is so painful seeing someone we love go through trouble, but we have to try hard to remember his hp is trying to help him.  Maybe this is where he needs to be--even though it is hard to watch and go through!

I will pray for you.  I hope your family can find some peace soon!

Take care.

Dawn
