So, I have been part of Alanon about a quarter of a century. In the beginning, I used to attend face-to-face meetings quite regularly. I'm in another fellowship also so I go there frequently. As time passed, life changes came into play. We moved to a new neighbourhood, new jobs, stuff like that. We drifted away from our face to face meetings. I come here a lot. But really nothing takes the place of a face to face. I still go to the other fellowship and that's how I justified it.

My wife had agreed to meet a newcomer at a meeting up the street. It was dark and raining out, so I tagged along. We came to a small church hall located about 2 minutes from where my home group in the other fellowship meets(on a different night). We go in. It's an alanon meeting and it was a good meeting. The newcomer showed but she left right after the meeting ended.

But, now I have a face to face meeting to go to that's about a 10-minute walk from my home. I'd say that was a coincidence but isn't that how god protects his anonymity.
