letting go letting God

When my first sponcer was alive, she gave me homework,I do it now with those I sponcer. One thing that really helped me was writing.I have saved alot of the things I wrote as we discused things.I found "let go let God"Thought I would share....

Letting go doesn't mean releasing my grip on life and falling into the abyss below.Letting go is gentle process of easing my grip on some facet of my life,an obsession,a character defect or negative feeling towards someone..

i must guide myself gradully.I cannot resolve that tomarrow morning I am going to totally eliminate a charter defect. But what I can do is become WILLING to let go.I need to prepare myself to change gently, step by stepI need to remember letting go is a gradual process. With the help of my HP (God),I can begin to let go.Surrending things to my HP (God) is a step in the right direction I choice to take and hope I can contiue with my hp (god's) guideness.Thank you for letting me share (((group hugs)))angel123

Thank you so much for this share!  Sometimes I think I am just supposed to "get" what I am to do in the program and when I have difficulty on a step I feel like I am just missing something that evrybody else gets and can do.  I want it to happen right away and without any trouble.  I have had trouble with the letting go and letting God.  I do believe, but it's that letting go thing that just seems to stick it to me.  When I think about like you put it--gradual slow gentle it's easier to handle and realize that it isn't an overnight miracle.  Slow and steady right?

Thanks again,

Dawn

((((Angel))))

Thank you so much for the post. It is a wonderful reminder of what we all must do living with addiction.

As you do, I also try to let go a little at a time.

Love ya,
Andrea
