He had a crisis

He came home from work today and told me that we needed to talk.  He informed me that he sold the cb radio and tv/dvd player (the third one) and bought coke today.  He relapsed in a big way.  By the time he told me he had already secured a bed for tomorrow night at a detox and then a rehab center after for thirty days.  He quit his job today, because it is too easy for him to use when isolated in the truck for a day or two at a time.  He also realized he can't work a recovery program when he's only able to get to one meeting a week on saturday.  I was upset he sold the stuff I had just bought him a little over a month ago.  Actually that's the third tv in four months.  Then I realized it was useless to be upset because I expected it to happen.  I was not upset with him for using, just upset period.  He asked me what to do now and I simply told him that it's not my problem.  He is a grown man and needs to make his own decisions and live with the outcome.  I did tell him that whatever he does has to be done because he wants to do it and not because he's afraid I will leave.  Right now he is feeling shaky and coming down, but went to an NA meeting.  I will keep praying.

I hope you will be able to take care of yourself through this crisis.  It sounds very difficult to me.  I get very upset with the A over financial stuff.

Hang in there...one day at a time...one hour at a time...one minute at a time. Try as hard as you can to keep your mind on you and what you need to get through this crisis. Of course it is not easy but I do find comfort in knowing that I am not alone. Things that are happening to you now are happening to many others. It helps me to know that this is what is happening to everyone that is living with an A. Crisis come and go and with the help of HP we manage to get through it.

I am saying a prayer for you right now.

It sounds like you handled the situation as best as one could. Keep growing!

(((Powerless))) go to some face to face meetings too. Just for yourself. Be around others. Please dont isolate yourself from those that love and care about you, (Us) especially now that you are  are so vulnerable.   My prayers are with You  & with your A to receive the help he is reaching out for.

I read you decided on a beautiful pink on your "toes."  (((BigHug)))

Your doing great!!!  Keep Looking uP!  This too shall pass.
