It's happening

Hi all, I'm new here. First post. In the last week I prayed hard about my lack of power over alcohol and my active alcoholic husband. I stopped nagging him about how much he drinks and how late he stays up. Well last night he stayed up late drinking, went to work and accidentally gave away several hundred dollars. I can see that that he is already headed for his rock bottom after only a few days of my removing myself from his drinking. I feel terrible that I haven't done this sooner, I could have saved him/me/us years of anguish. I also feel awful watching it happen. He's bringing home a lot of alcohol tonight. This is so hard to watch. But thats all I can do.

Hugs and welcome CM,

I hope you will find a face to face meeting if you can because it's so good knowing you are not alone. As great as the boards are face to face meetings always had the resonance of hearing the words vs reading them .. it's just not the same for me especially in the beginning.

Keep coming back .. you are not alone.

Hugs S :)

Welcome to MIP. I agree with Serenity. Go to a face to face meeting. Again, welcome.

I too send welcomes to you CM - glad you found us and glad that you shared.....I too suggest you go to local meetings - that's where I found the support and tools to deal and heal from the affects of this disease. I hear you and so relate - it's very hard to watch one we love self-destruct - yet it is necessary for them to reach a bottom - however that may look.

Take good care of yourself and be gentle with you....keep coming back - there is hope and help in recovery!
