Had to share this - after noon hour f2f meeting a member and I were helping a new member pick out her daily readers, pamplets, etc. (I chaired our meeting on Powerlessness and letting go, based on some questions in a '98 Forum) S. had these cards laminated in her wallet, and I am going to use this for a primary bookmark, along with my folded up duct tape (I keep for personal-mouthy-emergencies)
LET GO AND LET GOD
As children bring their broken toys with tears, for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God, because He was my Friend. But, then instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help with ways that were my own. At last I snatched them back and cried, "How can you be so slow?"
"My child," He said, "what could I do? You never did LET GO."
I have such trouble with this, and this card will be a godsend, getting as dogeared as my first "Sernity Prayer" card in my wallet.
Hi Lisa, just to say thank you for posting. A nice reminder to Let Go and Let God. Now, I'm off to get me some of that duct tape, you just never know when it may come in handy!
Thank you for the great post. What a great reminder that God is in control. It can be so difficult to just let go and let god, but I know that is what we must do.
