Thought for Today ~ Appreciation ~ 10/30/15

I want to recognize and appreciate the good and lovable qualities of the alcoholic,

and not hate him, but the sickness from which he suffers. His gradual awareness

of my appreciation of him as a person can rebuild his confidence and self-esteem

and create a desire for sobriety.

"By love I do not mean natural tenderness, which is in people according to their

constitution, but I see it as a larger principle of the soul, founded in reason and

spiritual understanding, which makes us kind and gentle to all our fellow creatures

a creations of God." ~ (William Law)

Enjoy Betty - hope you see tons of great color!

Debb - thanks for your service and the daily. It took me a while to be able to 'see' that which is good in my life and in my qualifiers. The program gave me the tools to be able to see them as lovely persons with a horrible disease.

While I can still get annoyed, distracted, sad or disappointed in what they say/do, it's lessoned when I am program-centered and/or spiritually fit.

I agree that gratitude lists are great tools for working through resentments towards our qualifiers. Remembering that my HP, God, doesn't have grand-children but created us all as HE chose to helps me as well. I've also grown to realize I have a choice to take it personally or QTIP - Quit Taking It Personally.

Have a super Friday everyone!
