Thought for Today ~ Faith ~ 10/28/15

Understanding my relationship to God will show me that humility is an essential

element of faith, and true humility will remind me to LIVE AND LET LIVE.

Faith in a Higher Power can also help me overcome my faults. If I believe in a

Power greater than my own, it would be unreasonable for me to behave as though

I were all-wise. "I pray for guidance from my Higher Power in everything I do. I

know that many of my decisions could have been more wisely made if I had been

more receptive to His guidance."

Have a blessed day everyone.

Happy Hump Day Debb! Thanks so much for the posting - Faith is such a wonderful gift of this program....

I am one who wondered for a long, long while if I truly believed beyond our earthly existence. Because of my upbringing, not believing was not voiced as it would not have been received well.

One of the greatest gifts of this program is we get to choose who/what is our higher power, and we are only asked to believe in a power greater than ourselves.

I had a lovely Aunt who always would say, "If you are worrying, you're not praying." I used to do the eye-roll on this as it seemed so silly before the program. She has since passed and I've added this to my toolbox as it's so spot on. If my brain, thoughts and energy are full of anxiety and worry, there is no room in my heart and soul for prayer/meditation.

So, while I don't fully understand everything about faith, God, Higher Power, and how it works, I don't have to. I just need to believe that I am not alone and someone else is in charge of the 'bigger picture' and that it is not me!

"Seeing is believing" - for me, this no longer means I have to witness 'it' to believe it. What it means for me now is when/if I look around, there are perpetual events happening each day, every moment that are beyond my control and that's where the miracles are witnessed.

(((Hugs))) to you and all!
