And this one will be right in town here where I am!!

Can't wait!  I hope it's a ... baby!  That way I doubt i'll be disappointed.

Can't start buying diapers yet because I don't know the sex, so I'm going to stockpile wipes.

Gonna build a playhouse and a rocking bear.  Rocking horses are too cliche.

PLUS, Modest Mouse concert tonight!

Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast - and make me dance around like an idiot!

Today started out rough, but it's shaping up!

Yes we male relatives can get silly as hell just like the Gmas...lol  I love this post cause you remind me that we have another great grand on the way!!  Can't wait to snuggle my nose in its belly aaaahhhh ha.  ((((hugs)))) wink

Well, of course, there's more to the story.

The mother has another child that she and her then-husband lost to CPS as they sank into heroin addiction.

She has been in "true" recovery for a couple years (4th rehab time's a charm).

She's been doing well in every way and I'm very proud of her.

She's blossoming into the person I always knew she could be.

A year ago I would have been terrified (and angry!) at the prospect of her having another child.

I would have been concerned that the added stress would push her in a negative direction.

I'm happy to say that at this point, I have no reservations whatsoever.

I have confidence that she will do all that she should and more, and I am more than happy to give her support (SUPPORT her, NOT take full responsibility for her and her child).

She's hard working and respectful and asks for very little from me.

She is completely aware of her and her mother's disease and works her recovery program to the point where it is becoming second nature.

It is SHE who directed ME to al-anon!!

All that being said, quite honestly, if I did end up having to make a choice whether or not to rear another child (I sincerely doubt it, but we all know the disease) - bring it on - I LOVE children.

Just don't tell her that!

Here's to grandparents,near and far. I laughed so much at the utterly gorgeous picture of a grandpa stocking up on nappies and in lieu of, wipes. And the baby belly nose thing. I can't wait till I have some, I'm gonna feed them up on all the sweets I dont allow their parents hahaha. Xo
