The C2C reading for today is a perfect reminder to keep the focus on ourselves, and listen to the loud voices within that are telling us that were not good enough.

The reading points out that this is not the truth, and it is a caused by  damaged self-esteem that is a result of living with the disease of alcoholism. When we finally enter Al-Anon and are  given the slogans and the serenity prayer, we find it easier to tell these voices  to be quiet as they're not true.

By making a gratitude and asset list on a daily basis, I can replace these negative thoughts with gentler, more loving, affirmations. Once I make a habit of this, the abusive  thoughts vanish.

Today's reminder suggests that treating ourselves with kindness and respect helps us to challenge the self-criticism and self-doubt, which is a result of living with this disease.

The quote is from:" How can I help my Children; "we need to learn to live, to focus on something good or useful in our lives and let  the rest of the world go about its business."

With that in mind I would like to advise all I am leaving for a nine day vacation to Croatia this afternoon and am looking forward to being computer free during that time.

I certainly enjoy posting these meditations for the day and maybe someone else can do so while I'm out of town. It's really pretty simple. Will miss you all take care
