You can certainly call and ask if she could That is what alanon is all about We reach out to others and they in turn must exercise their own program and make a decision that is right for them. Here we learn how to be honest and not be care takers so make sure to do so without expectations. Can you take a cab?

Thanks Betty. I just wanted to make sure it's appropriate. I could take a cab but it's very rural where this meeting is and it would be hard to get a cab home timely.

I could call a cab. I never think of that, I've been driving myself places 39 years.....

Its okay to needy. I am very needy right now and it is a first
For me as an adult. It takes courage to ask others for love
And support.

Alcoholism teaches us to isolate and to stuff our feelings and
Thoughts. Are needs are not important. Well hello they are
Very important to us! Maybe not others but to us they are.

We need to get healthy and whole with the help of our HP.

So call that lady and ask for a ride because you need a ride
And you need a meeting. Also it will give you a chance to talk
And get to know each other. Hope she agrees :)

AH may not like that AA meeting, but that doesn't mean he couldn't give you a ride, or let you borrow his car.

Kenny that would work IF he wasn't going to his OWN meeting somewhere... the man tries to go every day. I will figure it out.

just wanted to know if calling her would be appropriate. I will let you know how it works out

I plan to go to a meeting tonight so if I don't get to my "regular" meeting I'll have one under my belt.

and I'm sure we can go to friday's meeting together he likes that group for the AA meeting.

I never even thought to call a cab!

POINT IS MOOT.. duh I forgot (and I"m getting such grief from him for forgetting) that he has a colonoscopy on thursday and will NOT be going to a meeting tomorrow night I can use his car.
