C2C 3 11

The reading in the C2C today is very applicable.  It talks about MMOB and uses humor to address this difficult defect that I had so much trouble shedding.
The reading suggests  that laughter and humor are extremely important in facing ourselves and the mistakes we make  because it makes frailties easier to bear and we can forgive ourselves more easily

Love the  prayer:" Help me HP Help to me remember that the purpose of making mistakes is to prepare myself to make more: help me remember that when I am no longing making mistakes I will be out of this world

"Life is ever changing and we are always at the beginning   It takes courage to participate in life and we need to applaud ourselves for trying .

Love this thought

What a fantastic reading!
When I am working with students, I tell them that if they aren't making mistakes, they aren't doing something right because you need to be willing to take a risk and make mistakes in order to really learn and grow. This reading reminded me to take my own advice! I am not naturally much of a risk-taker, but I need to push myself out of my comfort zone in order to learn and grow.

...gr8 topic Betty...

...for quite a long time I was afraid to make mistakes; in fact I was afraid to make anything...

...a lot of us talk about 'walking on eggshells' or walking on broken glass...

My qualifier was a perfectionist, but he fell far short of perfection himself. Looking back he was more like a spoiled child.

I was always frightened of losing him completely. But the fact is he lost me long ago, and I could not bring that back.

I got locked up in the 'what if's' and the 'if only's'. I found the present moment far too hard to tackle.

Long story short O found the sheilaship and fellowship of Alanon, which I prefer to call "gals, and pals".

Also tears and laughter- buckets of tears and gallons of laughter... I can laugh now; and I can even talk.

for some time in my life even talking was difficult.

In Alanon I first learned to trust, and then to talk. I found it hard to stop talking, once started... but then I learned to find my limits...

...I was allowed and able to do this in a safe place...

How else was I to learn...?

Thanks Betty!! So agree with your topic, especially the fact that our mistakes are preparing us, so that we make more of them!!
