fear mode

At the weekend i was told about a young woman, only 35, who is a chronic alcoholic. She has lost her job, her home, lives with her mother and is so bad she cant go up stairs to her room so sleeps on the couch. She is wetting herself and cant get up when she falls. It sounds really bad. I went into panic mode upon hearing this. I decided i was going to fix this!!!!! So i said well i am going to go and see the mother and i will share some of what i learned, bring her a welcome pack etc. i will get someone from aa to go see the daughter. I went on and on.

Then a very wise and beautiful person in my life, only 24, said, i think your underestimating the mother and daughter, for all you know they could be working towards a solution, each person reaching their own point of surrender. it was like one of those moments in time where its just clear, panic and fear gone. My daughter was right, was i going to chap their door and declare my superiority and take away their dignity? of course not. They have their own higher power, the roles they are both playing right now is part of their journey and will ultimately be for the greater good. I dont know the full story or the lessons within that situation. My daughter is good friends with the sister and she has already passed on some literature to her friend. This disease is rampant within the family, they have just buried their father, from the disease. All i can do is pray and stay humble.x

Wow, wisdom (and HP's voice)can come from anywhere, can't they? So good that your daughter passed on literature. It's great when your offspring can up and do your work for us, now we just have to remember to sit back and let them do it and not interfere!

El Cee...lessons abound after the whole post is read.  Good intention on your loving part though.  We remain lovers first and foremost and that is where we often come from. In our disease of alcoholism sometimes that works and outside of the face to face rooms of Al-Anon not that often.  Higher Powers got this and I'm sure HP is grateful for your thoughts and intentions (spirit).    Prayers from the Pacific.   (((hugs))) smile
