C2C for today, speaks about the slogan:"Keep it simple." It suggests that taking care of our emotional and our spiritual needs is extremely important so that -in the beginning of program - Simplifying each task, and our lives is key to serenity.
.Letting go of some unnecessary tasks that can be left until we are up to it is also a great way to "Keep it simple. " I try to be gentle with myself and others so as not to become over whelmed. I also make sure I am taking care of my business, focusing on myself and acting and not reacting. This is how I take care of my emotional needs. I pray and mediate, daily and recite the serenity prayer when stressed.
The quote is from Hans Hoffman; "the ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak".
I am leaving for a vacation today and will not be back until 2-19 . 8 years ago ,when my son passed from this dreadful disease, I could have sworn that my life was over and that I did not have the desire, energy, or drive to raise up once more from the ashes of my life and rebuild .
I am happy to say I was wrong!!! I found MIP and rededicated myself to program , the steps and meetings. Slowly , very slowly I began to experience the healing growth that this program continues to offer.
One Day At a Time I was able to smile, laugh, plan a date, go out to dinner and soon I was living once again.
I will never stop missing my son but I have learned how to have a life filled with joy, love and happiness once again'
Thank you MIP and alanon. Keeping it simple was a key slogan for me at that time and still is. That is why on this vacation I will not have computeer access.See you around 2-19-2015
(((Betty))) Your love for your son shines through what you give us each day. I benefit from your depictions of how you focus on yourself and the respect you provide all. A program of attraction.
Have a wonderful time on your vacation. Reaping what you have sown is living well, and you do.
