Sunday church service went very well. The damage to the church has over $100,000 and there has been a special :vandalism account "that has been set up for us all to contribute to.
I really admired how the church handled the issue. It reminded me very much of Al-Anon principles in action.
They had a sign posted outside the church mentioning the issue. Once service started , we stayed focused on the daily readings and the sermons reflected on the message of the gospel. There was no mention made of the incident. I felt they had turned the entire issue over to HP and were continuing business as usual.
They were actually walking the walk and that comforted me. Thank you all for your understanding and prayers.

WOW....thats awesome.....its like "let the love continue" and they were not going to let this one, albeit bad incident, defeat the purpose of the gathering......I am glad you experienced that confirmation that yea, they did walk the walk and i am glad it comforted you.............and I did send love prayers to the whole church community.....

Hi Betty, glad to hear of the way the church is handling such an ordeal; that being said, is the young man responsible getting the counseling he needs? - to react that way upon being accidentally locked in makes me hear a cry for help.

Wow...sad and comforting at the same time. This reminds me of when our local clubhouse was vandalized and eventually even burned down. It was just rebuilt. Business always carries on there and they found an alternative site for the year it was being rebuilt from the fire. Sad that place which help alcoholics and addicts often wind up being robbed and vandalized...Glad you and the church are ok betty.
Amazing the damage that one person can do when left to their own devices. $100,000 in one night. It seems to me to be a lesson in don't let this happen to you. Good that we have all learned that going it alone with this disease is not a wise move to make - at all.
I'm sorry that the church membership will be responsible for paying so much of the cost for this mess. Good they could all be together and focused on a HP without denying that damage was done or letting what happened on Friday or Saturday ruin their Sunday.
