This is a song by Carrie Underwood, and the lyrics fit so well what we alanon members need to do.....so here it is..I've been thinking about this song lately due to my current situation..I am powerless....
She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mana and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was going way to fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air
Jesus that the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all on my own
I'm letting to
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleepin like a rock
Lovely song we all do need to apply that in our lives. I know u see no light at the end of the tunnel right now. I promise you, it will be there. Something for me that has always helped me in my roughest times is the Footprints prayer and espcally the part that says " when there was only one set of footprints that is when I carried you". Becky I am keeping you in my prayers. I will pray for god to give you strength to get you thru this rough time.
Will be here for you anytime you need. My e-mail is andimoon58@yahoo.com. Please feel free to contact my anytime you have the need.
Love you and once again will be praying for you to have the strength to get thru. You are a lovely person and deserve happiness.
I also love that song. I watched Carrie Underwood go from tryouts to winning Ameican Idol. There are 2 other songs that are on the same lines as hers. Brad Paisley and Dolly parton sing one together also and it is called "When I get where I'm going" and the other song is by Brooks and Dunn it is " I believe". You can tell I love country music but with these 3 songs it brings me closer to my higher power. I think God is trying to tell us something. Sorry I dont have the lyrics for these but they are beautiful.
I so know both of those songs, when I get where I;m going just makes me tear up.
Another song which always makes me cry is by Trisha Yearwood, "Jasper County Clay"
Not sure why, except in the song, the couple ended up living apart, but the music is so beautiful, ALL i have to do is hear the first few notes, and I'm blubbering
Music can certainly touch the soul, reaching deep within and bringing out feelings we didn't even realize were there.
