I will be traveling over 2 hours for a face to face visit with my son. Always scared going to a new and unfamiliar new prison but will take my time and follow all the rules. I just hope I don't get turned away because I didn't do everything right. It's been chilly here so I'm sure I will hear how cold it is from my son because he it being housed in a tent. That sucks...I only thought Tent City was the only tent prison.
Florence Prison is huge so I hope I will find the North Unit without so much trouble...... yes a little scared here
((( hugs )))

I understand since I, too, have gone to multiple prisons. I read and re-read the visitor's informational at the particular prison's web and the prisoner's handbook and still have found myself learning new things once I got there. Fortunately, I'm always dressed right - got in trouble once for chewing gum (nothing in the darn handbook about no gum) - and I carry my ODAT book in with me so that I keep my eyes on something other than the visitors until its my turn to go in and visit with son (or others albeit a long time ago). I do hope your travel will be smooth. Your visit will be pleasant. Your ride home happy, Cathy. As we've said to others: "We'll keep the light on for your return." (((C&Son)))

Dear Cathy, you will be FINE.....rarely does one get turned away and its usually bc they try to smuggle some contraband into the prison....its gonna be fine.....he is still better off in prison, rather loose, doing his drinking......and finding the north unit, i am sure others there, will know where it is......its OK to be scared....but kiss your fears, invite them to come w/you and they dissipate.....sending you hugs of good luck on visit.......

Christmas leftovers for a week lol. My son is doing very well considering where he's at now. He was so excited to see me and didn't stop talking for 4 hours. He had list of things to talk about and how I felt...how was my Birthday....how was my health and am I taking care of myself. Is my SO being kind to me....etc etc etc. He wants to see his dad so I pray it happens soon.
My son is growing up....I see it happening.

That is such good news, Cathy. I am so glad the visit went well and that you came home hungry and it appears happy, too? As to your SO - well, good for him! I'm glad he's being kind to you.
