A peaceful little christmas

I went out yesterday and picked up some gifts for my daughter yesterday,it isn't much but it is all I can do right now.I got the tree today,I love the smell of a real tree, they were marked down. It's beautiful. You know right now I just have a heart full of gratitude,I wish I could put into words how much this program and everyone here has helped me.I never dreamed that I would be where I am today, the shape I was in when I started,I was in real bad shape emotionally.I know the holiday season can be a hard time especially for all of us who are going through a lot of changes.I am just focusing on the spiritual aspect of Christmas,I don't really think I have ever done that,it has always been about the gifts and the excess.I am really enjoying the simplicity of it all and right now I don't think I could handle anything big anyway.Well I hope everyone can find peace in their hearts this season. One of my favorite Christmas songs is Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton it's a beautiful song and I sure can relate to it.

It all comes with a change of perspective and attitude. Love to see that you've made a shift in your thinking from lack to abundance. (((mjferg)))

You have reminded me that in my un-wanted, most sparse holidays I have experienced the intended meaning of that day set aside. You are doing that now. Out of changes you are describing a re-birth. Now I fear no holiday. (I used to be afraid how I would get through them because they would not be my old ideal.) That was liberating to shed those ideals.
I too love the smell of cut trees.

I live close to a "nunnery." Their property is covered with pine trees. On difficult, dreary days I have driven to their property and walked or just sat in my car under those wonderful trees, drinking in their fragrance and regaining my strength and love of life. Interesting how nature can restore us in mind, body and spirit. I'm glad you bought yourself a real tree.
