WOW!!!  veeeeery Excellent offering, Cathy.......Really is so spot on!!!!!  I am thinking of some things , reading this...maybe i am not "getting it" or maybe i am just thinking w/my keyboard...don't know...

I make "judgements" each day....I see a hitchiker and i am driving my SUV, and i am thinking  "gee, i hope this guy finds a ride who is better to protect themselves"  as a woman who hears the news stories and the news, and the horrible crimes committed against the more vulnerable,  I make a judgement call by not picking up this hitchhiker who could be innocent, but i cannot take that chance...

I make decisions each day, based on judgement....my refusal to let strangers in my home when they knock...I will offer to call 911, talking through my closed and locked door,  for one who says he/she is stranded, etc., and needing help, but i let no one in my home i don't know and trust, i am making a judgement that not all folks are safe and i must protect me...I am making a judgement that maybe this person knocking on my door is a predator...

I'm at work and i do the boss's wife's payables b/c i know she will most likely make mistakes and cause me more time to fix errors, and thus cost the company more money for my time to fix...so i do step into her "yard" a bit, always getting her consent and i say  that i respect she is shy of time to spend and i am just helping her out, when really i am trying to ward of an almost certain error....so that is a judgement

I dont' think i go one day w/out making some sort of judgement call, however in the cases mentioned above, it isn't to harm another but to protect or help me. and of course the boss's wife in the last example

When my A brother calls me after a certain time, I let him go to VM, b/c i am "judging" that he most likely is drunk and I don't want to deal with it so i make a "judgement" when i dont' take his calls after supper time...

so to me its not the word "judgement"  it is the "labelling" of a person, an indictment of them, w/out hearing or seeing the evidence to show what the story really is....like I go to grocery store and this really happened...I saw a skinny lady, with a longish coat looking at the whole fryer chickens...she looked frightened, sad....and she picked up a fryer and stuffed it inside of her coat...the lady at the deli saw it and i gave her a "look" as if to say  "let it go"  she made eye contact w/me and she went about her work.....I could have judge the lady as a  thief  OR a hungry, jobless lady who may have hungry kids at home and desperate and stole that chicken.....I did not report it..when she slunk out the door, i went up to the deli lady and i thanked her for not doing anything as i had asked her w/my eyes looking at her....She told me that at first she was gonna say something, but she saw me looking at her and she gave it a 2nd thought....we talked about it...the economy and the desperation that people not as lucky as we are are in...we talked about the greedy banksters tanking our economy, so ladies like the one we saw have to steal to feed themselves...

I did a grateful list when i walked out...

I have caught myself "labelling" or "judging" a person w/out knowing what their story or situation is and that is WRONG.....i don't know their story unless i have walked in their shoes.....so in cases like that, yea, I am working on just observing them, noting their presence and if they are not violating any of my boundaries, i want to live and let live.....the lady who ripped off the chicken, saw me observing her..she knew that i knew...she had this kinda "oh pleeeze" look in her eyes......i didn't move as she walked out w/her "catch"....

this was a great share, a needed share and i thank you for it......we need to just look at the trees as you state......yep....look at it, notice it, view it as a witness rather than a judge or a juror and as long as it is no violation of my boundaries, who am i to judge??? I have my own shortcomings to work on.....Thanks, Cathy......Hows the foot doing?????   Loved the rings and stuff you put on it in the picture you shared.......HUGS
