I love my own heart! Wow

Just because I "feel" something does NOT make it true.

I do not know where the phrase "Follow your Heart" originated from,  The Heart is Deceitful above all Things are the words of my higher power documented in the book of all time.

One of the things loving myself means to me it to allow my heart to love and support the things that my higher power uses my BRAIN to help me determine to be truth.

I always try to remember feelings aren't facts and if I stop and think and not react things usually flow naturally without me getting in God's way! Thanks for this today! Sending you love and support on your journey!

yep....however sometimes i can be too practical/cerebral and i miss out on some neat experiences...i think the two mixed and applied healthy, like balanced  (working program)  is a good mix....however much as i allow my emotions, i don't let them drive the bus........in support!!!!!

Love your response here, neshema! Your experience has been mine. And sometimes, what's going on in my head isn't very "holy," but it sure can be hole-y. My feelings help me notice my thoughts and change them with the help of program principles, my sponsor and the fellowship.

I wish I had known so much of this way back when, LOL, it would have saved me a ton of heartache and pain. I like what Neshema wrote, too, about balance. I can't always be logical and analytical, I have to also have the emotions I need to have so that I can experience life beyond the everyday mundane bill paying, working, grocery shopping, etc.

I agree alanon has proven to me that : "feelings are not facts" so that I do not have to react instantly and protect myself. I never knew how to handle feelings before alanon so that I would feel them , believe them and react.

Alanon taught me to most importantly not to react to them but to detach, feel them , own them(to myself) ,process them, and then respond appropriately. What a gift I learned to validate myself, express my opinions, without arguing or defending myself. All of this I practiced in alanon meetings and it works

this is a nice post. I agree. We have to use our power of reason, in combination with our heart. That is using the real will power that our higher power gave us.
